The Elevator of Anger: Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Anger Reduction and Management is an open enrollment curriculum designed for people in the criminal legal system and at moderate or high risk for recidivism on a validated risk assessment. Those who demonstrate a need in aggression would be appropriate for this program. The session materials are based on a cognitive-behavioral treatment model and incorporate motivational interviewing techniques. The intervention can be delivered as a “stand-alone curriculum” or incorporated into larger correctional treatment programs and/or community corrections. The program places a heavy emphasis on building cognitive, social, emotional, and coping skills. This 2-day training will include a description of the group content and format, as well as modeling and teach-backs of sessions. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) ASIST is an award-winning two-day interactive workshop that prepares caregivers to provide life-assisting suicide first-aid intervention using the Pathway for Assisting Life (PAL) model. Research shows that ASIST provides long-term financial benefit to communities and that ASIST-trained caregivers help at-risk people feel less suicidal and more hopeful. Who Should Attend?
